The 7th CIMIC Regiment/Multinational CIMIC Group is committed in maintaining its role as the international benchmark in civil-military cooperation.

Motta di Livenza (TV), February 11, 2025 – The Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) / 7th CIMIC Regiment welcomed Undersecretary of State for Defense Isabella RAUTI and the Chief of Staff of the Italian Army, General Carmine Masiello, to the Mario Fiore Barracks.

The visit was a significant opportunity to highlight the value of this unique military unit, which performs crucial activities in international crisis scenarios.
The guests, welcomed by the Commander of the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) / 7th CIMIC Regiment, Colonel Piero Furlan, along with Command Senior Enlisted Leader, a delegation of Italian officers, soldiers, and representatives from partner nations (Greece, Hungary, Romania, Portugal, and Slovenia), had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the regiment, receive updates on its current and future commitments and witness a practical demonstration of the procedures and analyses developed thought the implementation at AI tools and carried out by the CIMIC operators.

During the visit, the importance of training in ensuring the effectiveness of the regiment’s operations was emphasized. The combination of lessons learned in the field and their practical application in operational theaters allows for a rapid and precise response to the challenges posed by the ever-changing international contexts. In particular, the Assessment and Analysis Section of the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) / 7th CIMIC Regiment equipped with advanced technologies, monitors and analyzes the situation on the ground, providing decisive support during the planning and management phases of operations. This aspect was especially appreciated by the attending authorities.
Undersecretary Rauti and the Chief of Staff of the Italian Army also met with specialized personnel engaged in “civil-military cooperation,” who works daily in international scenarios.
During the meeting, Undersecretary Rauti stated: “The ability to engage in dialogue and mediation with local communities in Operational Theaters makes you a specialized asset, a unique entity, an excellence of the Armed Forces, and a source of pride for the Defense. The Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) / 7th CIMIC Regiment embodies a strong sense of modernity: aligned with NATO requirements and United Nations Resolutions on civil-military cooperation, in particular those focused on ‘Women, Peace, and Security’ (Resolution 1325 and following). Moreover, you are the operational response to new Defense requirements; you bring forth the necessary, technologically innovative and sophisticated solutions required to address hybrid threats.”

General Carmine Masiello, in his address, stated: “You are a unique reality, one the Army is immensely proud of, enhanced by a niche operational focus and a NATO joint approach. In every crisis response intervention, you have been a flagship, or rather the spearhead of our capability to understand and fulfill the missions. I am confident that you will continue to excel in the face of complex challenges ahead, fully aware that technology—key to defense and deterrence capabilities—must amplify the values every soldier strongly believes in and ensures daily on the field, both at home and abroad, with honor and discipline.”
Undersecretary Rauti has both a personal and professional connection to the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) / 7th CIMIC Regiment, having served there as a Major after completing the 26th Reserve Officers Course of the Italian Army.
The visit concluded with a tribute to the War Flag, recently awarded to the regiment in recognition of its missions and exceptional professionalism. Undersecretary Rauti’s signing of the guestbook underscored her deep attention to the regiment’s operations.
